CultureMix has been running events for many decades, from stages at Womad and Glastonbury to education programmes culminating in carnival events and processions. We've developed a wonderful archive of images and videos which tell the story of our creative journey in music and the arts. Children's Carnival Procession
School education workshops
Photo Gallery: CultureMix works with schools across the UK to create a carnival experience. Workshops in costume and mask making, flag and banners, percussion making, and steel pan music create the ingredients for a carnival parade involving the whole school and surrounding communities.
Carnival in Brazil
Afro Brasilian Percussion meets Steel Pan
In 2006 CultureMix Arts Artistic Director won an award to study carnival in Brasil. Hosted by Afro Brasilian percussion group Yle De Egba the collaboration brought typical Afoxe rhythms and steel pan together for the first time in Recife and Olinda. Photo Gallery and Videos.
