Reading Midweek - 8 February 2012 - Ball celebrates special Year

Reading All Steel Percussion Orchestra provided a full band to entertain guests at the 50th Anniversary of Jamaican Independence dinner and dance gala at The Hilton Reading.

Guests, including Jamaican High Commissioner Anthony Johnson, Reading Mayor Councillor Deborah Edwards and Boney M's Liz Mitchell, enjoyed run punch on arrival followed by a lavish Caribbean buffet.

Organised by Reading's Jamaica Society the gala guests were also entertained by a dance routine from Theatretrain youngsters followed by reggae singers from the Abelwell Foundation.
