How to get there
For this year's Notting Hill Carnival Panorama event RASPO introduces Reading to Iman Pascall, a new, talented young arranger from Brooklyn, New York who will create a dynamic version of Destra's 'Calling Meh' for the National UK 'Panorama' Steelband Championship.
Although it is Iman's first time arranging for a national championship she has played for many Panoramas in New York, Trinidad and here in the UK. As a student of Berklee College of Music - famous for it's jazz alumni including Keith Jarrett who played piano with Miles Davis, and record producer and musician Quincy Jones - Iman excels in her major subject steel pan.
For RASPO players Iman (24) is the ideal choice for their second Panorama outing as she is 'young, hugely talented and loves steel pan like we do'.
CultureMix Arts, RASPO's management organisation, is collaborating with Aberdeen's Bucksburn Academy who will bring sixteen of their young musicians to join RASPO for the Panorama Championship. RASPO plans to take fifty players to the event and welcomes young musicians who want to get involved.
