CultureMix Arts is a steel pan music education and carnival arts organisation. We nurture high quality orchestras and provide artist training with a far-reaching education and professional development programme.
We strive to widely promote and raise awareness of the benefits of participation in the carnival arts and music sector, by encouraging access, education, participation, and artistic professional development locally, nationally and internationally.
The CultureMix Steel Pan Music School is home to RASPO - Reading All Steel Percussion Orchestra whose past projects and performances include a live appearance on BBC Children in Need Appeal, ITV's Rosie & Jim and CBBC's Level Up. The orchestra has performed at numerous carnivals and international festivals including WOMAD UK and 'Olinda Carnaval' in Brasil.
The growing demand for steel bands during the summer sees the RASPO ensemble out performing most weekends from May to September. Click here for a list of public performances and related events... More...
